GREAT MINDS, DON’T THINK ALIKE
Arm: Global Engineering Conference
We brought together 300 of Arm’s 2023 graduate engineer intake for a fusion experience of diverse learning, networking and fun
Arm challenged us to devise a creative networking and team-building experience for over 300 of their brightest (and hardest to engage) engineers.
This was an audience of varied thinkers – from those that like to tackle a challenge head on and network with enthusiasm, to those who prefer to digest their thoughts in their own time. So, we needed to approach the experience design in a way that would maximise engagement, accessibility and comfort.
We tailored diverse spaces, from a sensory oasis to a lively games arcade, a party haven with cocktails and karaoke, and a cinematic retreat with popcorn.
But it all had purpose. For team building, we engaged graduate engineers’ intellects, using lateral storylines to reinforce the kind of collaborative problem-solving techniques they need in their roles. Groups ventured into space, constructing spacecraft and plotting interplanetary journeys using real orbital mechanics.
To challenge their ability to turn blue-sky thinking into tangible solutions, they envisioned and assembled the city of the future, employing craft items, construction kits, electronics, lights, and motors.
This was a fusion of diverse learning, networking, and fun – the Arm way.
